OP Games

For parents

OP Games is a family project: a dad and his kid making games together. Here is what the site does with your kid's time and information.

What it doesn't do

Names

Every player gets a name made from two word lists and a number, like TurboOtter42. Your kid can build a different one from the same lists, but nobody can type a name, so nothing rude or personal ends up on a leaderboard.

The arcade room

On the front page players walk around a 3D arcade and can see each other's characters and names. That is all they can see or do: there is no chat and no way to send anything to another player.

What it stores

The browser keeps a player token (a random id, nothing about your kid) and the game's settings. The game server keeps that player's name, wins, losses and rating so the stats page and leaderboards work. Clearing the browser's site data starts a new player.

Online play

In SoSFight your kid can sit on the couch (one shared room where players watch the fight that's on and take turns against the winner), play a friend by sharing a 5-letter room code or an invite link, or play ranked. All other players ever see is the name and the fight itself.

Who pays for it

Right now, we do. If that changes, any payment will be something a parent chooses, never something a kid can tap by accident.

Pick your name

One word from each list. We add the number.
